China Meets Financial Technology

The FinTech Lab will explore collaborative research applications of open source software tools that will increase the industry's financial literacy by broadening public access to experiment with the technologies transforming financial services, insurance and real estate. Open source data analytics, artificial intelligence and blockchain software development form the core competitive strength of our lab. Collaborators will use these tools to develop smart contracts, smart markets and algorithmic trading strategies, and then study their potential to positively impact the provision of financial services to businesses and consumers.

We aim to provide increased financial literacy for students and professionals through the industry leading freely available, open source analytics engine and tools. The FinTech lab provides an applied, experiential environment in which students, faculty and corporate partners can experiment with the technologies transforming financial services, insurance and real estate.

Industry's Leading Open Benchmark Datasets

GSAS has procured some of the industry's leading open benchmark datasets for FinTech students and researchers. The China Stock Market Open Benchmark Datasets provide quarterly updated China stock market data at all frequencies: from high frequency trading Level-2 order and transaction info for one one year and the recent month of April 2020, to one-minute trading bar for the past ten years and daily trading bar for the past thirty years. By providing the most comprehensive open benchmark datasets for budding researchers worldwide, GSAS is fulfilling its missions of educating graduate students to excel at the intersection of advanced technology and industry application.
