Board of Directors
The Board of Directors governs the Hong Kong Graduate School of Advanced Studies. The BOD is responsible for developing and approving the School’s vision, mission, strategic goals and plans, approving main policies, and approving the annual budget. It currently consists of five members.

Chairman and CEO
Mr. Huang is the founder of China Education Group, the predecessor of GSAS. He entered the University of Science and Technology of China at the age of 14, and received his M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT. Charles serves as a board member of China’s leading e-Commerce delivery company NYSE: ZTO; a board member of China’s internet pioneer company NASDAQ: SOHU; and held a visiting professor position at the Chinese Academy of Science.

Board Member and Secretary
Mr. Shen received a Juris Doctorate with honors from Harvard Law School in 1994, where he was an Executive Editor of the Harvard Law Review. He served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of China Taiping Insurance Holdings Company Limited listed on HKEX. Mr. Shen also worked at as an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs in New York and Hong Kong.

Board Member
Mr. Loat is a senior investment banker, who served as the CEO of Deutsche Bank Asia-Pacific (Japan, Australia and Asia), and was responsible for some 6,500 staff across various countries in Asia-Pacific. He also held many senior positions at Merrill Lynch and Bankers Trust.
